People of Pagoro clan also came to Uganda from South Sudan -- more specifically Bar-el Ghazel. He says this group of people was led by one Atenga. He crossed int Uganda from Agoro Hills in Kitgum. Bongomin says a bigger group lives in Agoro to date. He said they derived their name of Pagoro from Agoro hill. Pagoro means people from Agoro. He said it was Mbile who led their group following river Aswa up to the Nile in Sudan again but this time near Adjumani. They crossed into present day Acholiland and settled at Ojigo where they found Akako clan already settled. Although they lived with Akako people, marriages among them was not prohibited. When Toro people came, they received them, lived together but also continued to have intermarriages. Amabile says they were also relocated from Ojigo because of Small pox and Sleeping sickness. Most of them lived around Keyo hill. Even when the British allowed people to leave Keyo hill, Pagoro people have remained close to this hill up to now.
